Nanoparticles: Titanium Dioxide Nanoparticles

Titanium Dioxide Nanoparticles in Liver Tumor

Titanium dioxide nanoparticles - is a manufactured nanoparticle used in a variety of products from sunscreens, cosmetics, food, and coatings.

Advantages:

  • mostly used because of its brightness and very high refractive index.
  • opacity agent in pharmaceutics
  • antimicrobial properties

Limitations:

  • little is known about the potential toxicities and the underlying mechanisms, and this has generated major concerns among scientists especially toxicologists on their potential genotoxicity and cytotoxicity effects.
